2. Organization is very important for a career in sport marketing. Often a sport marketer will work for an entire team or organization, and they have to direct a dozen athletes to half a dozen places, all at the same time. They will need to know which athletes will film a promotional commercial, which athletes will go to a hospital to visit for photo ops, and who will be available for pre-game autographs in the stadium concourse. Not only is organization of utmost importance, the sport management professional must also make those around them feel that everything is under control and completely organized. A lack of confidence can result in looking for a new job.
3. Multitasking abilities are also supremely important, all the more so because there are many jobs that must be done. A sport manager has to think about advertising, print media, digital media, community events, and more. Each day something new may pop up, but some things have to be done no matter what pops up.
